The unit gutted back to bare brick with the floor removed.
Kurdina was a long, dark unit with a failing floor. Rather than patch it, we took it out completely: excavating down, laying a new sub-floor and building a fresh joisted floor structure across the whole footprint.
"We took the floor out entirely and rebuilt it. Everything above it is new."
With the floor sound, the rest followed: metal-stud partitions to form the new layout, a boarded and bulkheaded ceiling to carry the lighting scheme, and full first-fix electrics and plumbing behind the linings.
Finishes went on from the back forwards: herringbone flooring through the dining room, a fitted bar with backlit shelving, and a cove-lit ceiling that gives the room its colour at night.
It now trades as a full restaurant and bar, in a building that needed structural work before it could be a restaurant at all.
